If you ever worked on a Mac, or with Linux and other Unix variants, you probably noticed that when you insert a CD, or attach a USB storage device, a shortcut will appear on the desktop automatically. Windows does not have this behaviour. DeskMount is a Little utility fills the gap by doing that, and more. Whenever a CD or another drive type becomes available, DeskMount will add a shortcut on the desktop. Eject or dismount the media, and the shortcut disappears. Just as on a Mac.
However, DeskMount will also provide you with FULL AutoRun support for ALL types of drives, including USB memory sticks! There is no better utility for this! And as a bonus, you can get rid of the annoying 'analyzing media' dialog that XP pops up every time you Connect something.
